How to compare them

  • Reach. Large agencies work across the whole country. Smaller groups focus on one place or one kind of help.
  • Speed. Local groups can often buy and deliver supplies quickly. Large agencies take longer but move more.
  • Receipts. Registered charities can issue tax receipts. Small fundraisers may not.
  • Reporting. Look for specific numbers, photos, and dates about what the money paid for.

Where Lights for Lebanon fits

Lights for Lebanon is a student-led fundraiser. We raise money through GoFundMe, bake sales, and events, and we work with Beit el Baraka and the American Task Force on Lebanon. If you would rather give to a larger agency, the list above is a good start. If you would like to support students raising money for displaced families, you can donate to our fundraiser.
